Sandown Park Racecourse

Sandown Park is a horse racing track and a venue in Esher, Surrey, England.

History

Sandown Park first opened in 1875 and every visitor had to pay at least half a crown. The event lasted three days, starting on Thursday April 22. It was held the Grand National Hunt Chase and the Grand International Steeplechase. The latter paid £ 2,130 to the winner, which was the highest victory total at that time.

Events

There are regular afternoons, evenings and weekends horse races. Sandown Park Racecourse is the venue for the Group I race Eclipse Stakes. In addition to the racing fairs, car shows, auctions and concerts (such as Simply Red, Spandau Ballet and Tom Jones) organized there.
