Sandy Claws (film)

Sandy Claws is an American animated short film directed by Friz Freleng from the year 1955.

Action

Tweety is taken from their owner Granny with the sea. While Granny goes to put on her new swimsuit, Tweety remains in his bird cage. Not far from trying meanwhile to fish Sylvester. A huge fish goes to the single worm, the New Year has forced at gunpoint to fishhook seats, and devours the cat as a whole. When he passes back to the fishing pier is clear to him that there must be easier ways for food assistance. He hears in the distance Tweety chirping.

There follow several attempts to catch the birds that are prevented by huge waves and Sylvester's inability regularly to water sports. When the cage, which rests on a small rock, is surrounded by water and Tweety calls for help, Granny appears and now asks Sylvester to rescue their bird. Because it is foreseeable that even Sylvester's attempt to reach the bird cage using a wet suit will fail, Tweety takes the matter into their own hands and rowing together cage on land where Granny receives her bird thrilled. New Year's Eve in air-tight diving suit is almost forgotten and suffocating, but Granny is able to activate the oxygen supply again. Sylvester suit puffs up now and rising into the air. The cat rescues across an emergency exit from the suit and activates a reserve parachute, however wearing it at the end directly into the municipal animal shelter.

Sandy Claws came on April 2, 1955 as part of the Warner Bros. Looney Tunes cartoon series in theaters.

Sandy Claws in 1955 was nominated for an Oscar in the category " Best Animated Short Film ", but could not prevail against When Magoo Flew himself.
