Sandy Jardine

William " Sandy" Pullar Jardine (born 31 December 1948 in Edinburgh, Scotland ) is a former Scottish footballer who played during his playing days for the Glasgow Rangers and Heart of Midlothian.

Jardine made ​​his debut for the Rangers in 1967 and played a total of 674 games for the club, as a defender or as a Libero. He was part of the famous team that could win the 1972 European Cup Winners' Cup, the biggest success in the history of the Rangers. Overall, he was three times Scottish champion and five times won the Scottish Cup.

1975 Sandy Jardine was first elected to Scotland's Footballer of the Year again in 1986 at the age of 38 years.

Towards the end of his career in 1982, he joined the team of his youth to Heart of Midlothian to Edinburgh, where he remained until 1988. He served the last two years by the way even as an assistant coach by Alex MacDonald.

Jardine played 38 caps for Scotland, the first in 1971 against Portugal, the last in 1979 against Belgium. He participated in the Soccer World Cup in 1974 and 1978.
