Sangad Chaloryu

Sangad Chaloryu [Note 1] ( Thai: สงัด ชล อ อยู่, RTGS: Sa Ngat Chaloyu, pronunciation: [. Sà.ŋàt tɕ ʰ ː á.lɔ jù ː ]; born March 4, 1915 in Amphoe Bang Nang Buat Doem, Suphanburi Province; † November 23, 1980 ) was a Thai admiral and politician.

Biography

Sangad completed after school education and studying at the Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University. He then joined the Royal Thai Navy and was at first a graduate of the Royal Thai Naval Academy ( โรงเรียน นาย เรือ ) and then the University of National Defence.

On November 19, 1973, he became admiral and commander of the Navy ( Commander of the Royal Thai Navy ) and held that office until 30 September 1976.

At the same time he was on 1 October 1975 as the first naval officer Commander of the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters, and thus head of the armed forces ( กำลัง ทหารไทย ). He held until September 30, 1976 Also this office.

On September 23, 1976, he took over this function because of the unsettled political situation that culminated in the massacre at Thammasat University, the power of Prime Minister Seni Pramoj and was Chairman of the Administrative Council of State ( State Administration Council) to October 5, 1976.

On September 25, 1976, he was also defense minister and belonged to the successive governments of Prime Minister Seni Pramoj and Tanin Kraivixien on until 12 November 1977. In the meantime he was from 8 to 22 October 1976 after the re- deposition of Seni Pramoj acting Prime Minister as Chairman of the Administrative Council of State.

In January 1977, he had between Thailand and Cambodia in a serious border conflict with armed struggle.

On 20 October 1977, he urged Prime Minister Tanin from office and took over temporarily as Chairman of the Administrative Council of State again the power that he ultimately surrendered on 12 November 1977 Prime Minister General Kriangsak Chomanan. In the background, however, he remained de facto until 1980 one of the real rulers.
