Sanica Boru Elazığspor

Sanica Boru Elazığspor is a Turkish football club based in the provincial capital of Elazig in the east of the country. Currently the club plays in the Süper Lig The club colors are Bordeaux and white. The team is called in accordance with the nickname of the inhabitants of the province of Elazig as Gakgoşlar.

History

Elazığspor was created in 1967 when the three local clubs Merkez Gençlik, Güvenspor and Harputspor banded together to form a powerful team. By the year 2002, the club commuted regularly 2 to 3 Turkish League before the promotion to the first Turkish league. There, the club was able to hold for two years, before the descent had to be accepted as a Table. In the season 2010/11 Elazigspor is sovereign ascended as a master in the TFF 1 Lig. In the first season in the second highest Turkish league Elazigspor has managed the direct promotion to the Turkish league.

For the 2012/13 season Elazığspor awarded the naming rights for the duration of one season to the company Sanica Boru A.Ş. and took in the season with the name Sanica Boru Elazığspor the competition. In return, the association received 3,000,000 Turkish liras (equivalent to the then exchange rate € 1.37 million ).
