Sanitec is a European sanitary ware producer with an annual turnover of 753 million € (2012 ). The head office is in Helsinki. The company is majority owned by Swedish private equity firm EQT (owns 77.5 % of Sanitec since 2009, previously 100%) and has several European ceramics brands with 18 production.

History

Sanitec was founded in 1990 as a subsidiary of Wärtsilä. As of 1999, Sanitec has been traded on the Helsinki Stock Exchange. This listing ended on 1 November 2001 following the acquisition by Pool Acquisition Helsinki Oy, a company that merged with the Sanitec on ​​31 March 2002. In early 2005, the merged company was taken over completely by EQT.
