Sankei Shimbun

The Sankei Shimbun (Japanese产 経 新闻) is a Japanese national daily newspaper. It is approximately 2.19 million editions, the sixth largest newspaper in Japan, and has the most readers in the Kinki Region. In this region, it also appears in an evening edition of 635,000 copies.

The name is an abbreviated word of Sankei Sangyo (产业, "Industry") and Keizai (経 済, " economy" ), so that the name of the newspaper literally "Industrial and business newspaper " means. It sees itself more as a nationalist, anti-communist, conservative, counter - CCP, and pro -USA. With Asahi Shimbun, which on the contrary, sees itself as a left liberal, they argue often on the editorials.

On 1 October 2007 the newspaper launched with MSN Sankei News online collaboration with MSN Japan.
