Geography

Geographical Location

Sankt Georgen ob Jews castle is located at the headwaters of the Mur River, between Jews castle and Unzmarkt woman castle. Just south of the village ( altitude 734 m), the Seetaler Alpe increases ( Zirbitzkogel 2396m; Truppenübungsplatz weather radar). The Friesacher Street (the former federal road B317 ) to Carinthia and Trieste carries on its west flank to the Neumarkt saddle up (1000 m).

History

The municipality Sankt Georgen ob Jews castle was built in 1849 /50 and originally included the area of ​​the cadastral Sankt Georgen.
