Sankt Magdalena am Lemberg

Sankt Magdalena at the Lviv was until 31 December 2012 an independent municipality in the district court or the district of Hartberg in Styria, Austria. Sankt Magdalena at the Lviv merged on January 1, 2013 with the community book Geiseldorf. The name of the new community is book -St. Magdalena.

Geography

Geographical location

Sankt Magdalena at the Lviv was the thermal region of Eastern Styria's hill country about eight kilometers south-east of the district capital Hartberg and about 45 km east of the provincial capital of Graz. The former municipality was between Hartberger Untersafen and Lafnitz, with only the Hartberger Untersafen tangent to the municipality. However, it is drained by its tributaries, extending to the east Lafnitztal toward a wooded area.

History

Demographics

St. Magdalena and Lviv are developed around the major church around. Already in the first half of the 18th century there was a school. 1788 Lokalie, 1892, the parish of Santa Magdalena was established.

With the creation of local churches by 1848/49, a congregation was established, initially, but soon got the name Sankt Magdalena at the Lviv Lviv. But the capital was always already at that time larger Lviv.

On 1 January 1959, the independent village vineyard was united with Santa Magdalena at Lemberg, in the municipality reform in Styria, 1968, effective January 1, 1969, the municipality Hopfau to Santa Magdalena am Lemberg.

The local museum was housed in an old farmhouse.

On 1 January 2013 Sankt Magdalena at the Lviv was the occasion of the community structure reform 2010-2015 newly created with book - Geiseldorf to ( over Styria first ) community book -St. Magdalena united.

Coat of arms

Coat Description: ". A silver ointment jar in red shield with a silver Inboard occupied with green shamrocks " The ampulla is the attribute of the hl. Mary Magdalene, the church and namesake. The shamrocks are for St.. Irish missionary Patrizius that is here locally venerated.

The award of the municipality coat of arms came into effect on 1 May 1988. Association with the community, it ceases to exist. The new coat of arms shall be designed in accordance with the Styrian Provincial Government that " if possible, remain in the new coat of arms coat of arms of both ."

Traffic

Sankt Magdalena at the Lviv was off the main roads. The South A 2 motorway, built here in the area 1983-89, though runs close to the village of Hopfau through the old village area, has in this area but no junction. The closest connection point is Sebersdorf / Badwaltersdorf (126 ) in about 6 km away. The change road B 54 from Hartberg to track village is about 8 km away.

Railway

The spa railway was built in 1891 runs through the municipality, has here but no breakpoint. Since the breakpoints book and Geiseldorf were abandoned, the nearest railway station in Sebersdorf was about 5 km away.
