Sankt Peter- free stone ( usual notation St. Peter- free stone,. Abbreviation St. Peter- Frst ) is a market town in Austria with 2436 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the judicial district or district of Leoben in Upper Styria.

Geography

The place is at the southeastern edge of the Alps in the Eisenerzer Vordernbergertal, combines in its lower portion, which Trofaiach pool with the Upper Mur Valley in Leoben.

The current name of locality is not a double name of two places, but one enclosing the former rule to which St. Peter was (as in Eichberg- Trautenburg ).

Regional Policy

St. Peter- free stone is a member of the Association of Municipalities HerzBergLand (small region riding Ling view).

At the municipal structural reform 2010-2015 the church today leads discussions with neighboring communities with respect to a community split. Eligible City Trofaiach come ( to the January 1, 2013, Gai and Hafning belong ), with which it shares the location in Trofaiach pool and collaborator in community association HerzBergLand, the city of Leoben, with which it connects the voestalpine Donawitz plant ( the wire factory is located in St. -Peter - free Steiner area ), or Traboch, which is also in the community association member, and even looks a merger with Leoben possible.

Industry

The largest employer in St. Peter- free stone is the voestalpine Austria wire. The old name voestalpine wire Donawitz would certainly suggest that this operation in the district Donawitz the neighboring town of Leoben is, he lies largely within the municipality of St. Peter- free stone, at the northwest end of the great Donawitzer steelworks.
