Sankt Ulrich am Waasen is a municipality with 764 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in Leibnitz district in the Austrian state of Styria. From 1 January 2015 it has joined forces framework of the Styrian municipality structural reform with the community Heiligenkreuz am Waasen, the new community will continue to use the name " Heiligenkreuz am Waasen ".

The municipality comprises the cadastral St. Ulrich am Waasen and Wutschdorf.

History

The local church as an autonomous body created in 1850. After the annexation of Austria in 1938, the community came to Reichsgau Styria, 1945-1955, she was part of the British zone of occupation in Austria.

Policy

Mayor Rudolf Frühwirth ÖVP, which has replaced on September 30, 2013 Johann Kickmaier of the civil list Kickmaier. This mid-term solution had been agreed by the local council elections in 2010.
