Sankuru River

The Sankuru ( in the upper reaches Lubilasch ) is about 1230 km, the longest tributary of the Kasai in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Africa.

As Lubilasch the river originates in the Katanga Province in the northern foothills of the central part of the Lundaschwelle. From its source, which is located northeast of Kasaji or south-east of Kafakumba, it flows first in a northerly direction. After about 460 km, the river changes its name to Sankuru. Its water falls over some large waterfalls, after which it turns to the west from about Lusambo; of this city on the Sankuru is navigable. In Bena - Bendi it flows into the Kasai.
