History
The company was founded in 1980 by Milan Mandaric and Jure Sola. The focus was on the production of printed circuit boards. The late 80s to the portfolio backplanes ( backplanes ) and assemblies has been extended.
In December 2001, Sanmina bought for six billion dollars SCI Systems (Space Craft Incorporated) from Huntsville, Alabama. SCI was at this time, although almost twice as large as Sanmina, but suffered from low margins in the production of PCs. In contrast, Sanmina was financially much better set up by very well be running telecommunications business. After the merger with SCI Systems, the company was renamed in 2001 in Sanmina.
