Sanne Keizer

Sanne Keizer (born 6 February 1985 in Doetinchem ) is a Dutch beach volleyball and former volleyball player.

Career Hall

In her birthplace Sanne Keizer began at the age of eleven, playing indoor volleyball at Orion Doetinchem. Later she was a member of the Dutch national youth team and beat for 59 Longa Lichtenvoorde and Martinus Amstelveen on in the Eredivisie their home country.

Career Beach

The Dutch won the 2002 Stevens Arjanne with the gold medal at the World Championships U18 in Greece. In the same year, the two athletes vice European champions in Ukraine were. From 2003 Sanne Keizer played with Merel Mooren various FIVB tournaments with the thirteenth place in Marseille in 2004 as the best result at the World Tour. Moreover, the two athletes won a Challenger & Satellite event in Lausanne. In the years 2005-2008 Keizer reached Marrit Leenstra a fourth place in Montreal and a fifth place in Bali and with Mered de Vries fifth place in Klagenfurt.

2009 succeeded the former youth national team with their new partner Marleen Van Iersel of the first medal win at a tournament in the world series. After the defeat in the semi-final against the Brazilians Larissa and Juliana, the two Europeans defeated in the match for the bronze medal, the U.S. Americans Angie Akers and Tyra Turner. In the same season Keizer / Van Iersel occupied a fourth place in Gstaad and ranks fifth in Klagenfurt and Phuket. At the World Championships in Stavanger, the Netherlands team reached as group winners after two hits in the first round the main draw. There they first defeated the Norwegians Maaseide / Kongshavn and then the set to Number Eight Brazilian sisters Maria Clara and Carol, before they were lost in the quarterfinals against the later finalist Larissa and Juliana, and together with three other teams fifth in the overall standings.

2010

After two places seventeenth in the first two events of the FIVB Tour Keizer and Van Iersel arrived in Rome and Moscow ranks ninth. After victories among other things, the Germans Sude / Köhler and listed on three Brazilians Antonelli / Talita the West Europeans failed in Stavanger Branagh / May- Treanor and finished fifth. This result could improve in Marseille yet. There they beat the Germans in the quarterfinals Goller and Ludwig, but then subject to two Austrian duo and were fourth. The same result reached Keizer and Van Iersel in their home country in the Hague, where they were able to defeat the Salgado sisters, Larissa and Juliana and Angie Akers and Tyra Turner in succession, but in the fight for the medals of Talita / Antonelli and the second meeting also were defeated by Akers and Turner. At the end of the football year, the athletes from the Netherlands occupied on Phuket fourth place, here they defeated the Schwaiger sisters Stefanie and Doris and Goller / Ludwig, before the Brazilian semi-finals against Walsh / Branagh and in the match for third place against the sisters Carol and Maria Clara lost.

2011

Ninth Keizer and Van Iersel entries were at the beginning of the season in Brasilia and Sanya, the largest ever success they achieved at the next event in Shanghai. First they defeated Holt Wick / Semmler from Germany, then Kolocova / Sluková from the Czech Republic and then the number listed on Two Chinese women Xue Chen / Zhang Xi and the number three seedings, Antonelli and Talita. After her semi-final victory over Stefanie and Doris Schwaiger the Dutch people and the world champions Jennifer Kessy and April Ross were able to defeat in the final. After 15:21, 26:24 and 15:13 Sanne Keizer and Marleen Van success Iersel received for the first time in her career, a gold medal at the FIVB World Tour. This success could confirm the two right at the next tournament in Poland. Kessy and Ross were defeated in the semifinals. Final opponents were in Myslowice the Italians Cicolari / Menegatti. After a 25th place in Beijing Keizer / Van Iersel failed at the World Championships in Rome after three victories in their pool and the subsequent victory over their country women bogs / Kadijk in the following round of brews / Köhler and occupied the ninth place. In Stavanger, the Dutch duo reached the semifinals, in Gstaad, the athletes from Western Europe were fifth. After two ninth places in Moscow and Sanne Keizer and Marleen Stare Jablonki Van Iersel lost the semi-finals in Klagenfurt against the double Olympic Siegerinen May-Treanor/Walsh, but secured then the bronze medal against Talita / Antonelli. At the European Championships in Norway, set at position one Dutch women occupied the fifth place after they were subject to the Austrians Barbara Hansel and Sara Monday Olli.

2012

Keizer and Van Iersel 2012 brought in their own country the European title and occupied at the Olympic Games in London ninth place.

2013

At the World Championships in Stare Jabłonki Keizer / Van Iersel reached the second round, where they did against the Brazilians Liliane Maestrini / Seixas and were ranked number nine. Also at the European Championships in Klagenfurt they finished ninth.
