Sanok Land
The country Sanok (Polish: Ziemia Sanocka; Latin: terra et Districtus sanociensis ) was from 1340 to 1772 a branch of Ruthenia Voivodeship within the Polish- Lithuanian Commonwealth. The court on the Sanok Castle ( 1425) is Upper Tribunal for numerous German legal towns and villages (up to 1553).
It was in the far southeast of Poland in the rivers San and Wisłok in vorkarpathischen hills ( Sanok lowlands or Sanok plains). In the field today are the Polish communities Sanok, Brzozów, Lesko (all ) as well as the cities of Krosno and Rzeszow (partially).
