Sant Joan

The small community of Sant Joan with 1973 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013) located in the center of the Balearic island of Mallorca, bordering the municipalities of Vilafranca de Bonany, Petra, Sineu, Lloret de Vistalegre, Montuïri and Porreres. The valley, which is home to 1717 inhabitants of the municipality is located about six kilometers west of Petra and seven kilometers southeast of Sineu. In 2006, the foreigners in the community was 14.1 % ( 262), the proportion of German population 4.1% (76).

The farming village, in the old days Alahamar called, surrounded by hills, rising out of the vast plain of planning, was awarded with the land use plan of the King James II in 1300, the city rights.
