Santa Caterina di Valfurva

Santa Caterina is an Italian ski resort 200 km northeast of Milan and belongs to the municipality Valfurva.

Santa Caterina is located in the Valtellina, near Bormio in the province of Sondrio ( Lombardy Region ). The town is located 1734 m s.l.m. and has eight lifts and 40 kilometers ski slopes. The road from Bormio leads behind Santa Caterina on the Gavia Pass.

Santa Caterina hosted the women's race at the World Alpine Ski Championships 2005. Runway on which the races were held, is named after the multiple world and Olympic champion Deborah Compagnoni, who was born in Santa Caterina.
