Santa Pau

Santa Pau is a medieval-themed buildings by their community of 1589 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013) in the Garrotxa in Catalonia, Spain. It is located about ten kilometers southeast of Olot, in the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park. The community was qualified by the Catalan government as a site of special historic and artistic interest, in particular because of the market square ( Plaça major also Firal dels Bous, German: , cattle market ' called ) surrounding medieval arcades and the St Mary's Church from the 16th century.

The present center, a triangular fringed with numerous archways space, emerged from the medieval cattle market. The protective function for this business place took over the castle, built in the 12th century.

The few kilometers away Santa Margarida volcano is a popular tourist destination.
