Santa Praxedes

Santa Praxedes is a town in the Philippine province of Cagayan and is located in the northwest of the province. In 2010, the 100.8 km ² area counted 3646 inhabitants, resulting in a population density of 36 inhabitants per km ².

The village lies on the Caraballo Mountains, which reach a height of up to 500 meters. The coast is so consistently steep. The settlements that are located in the valleys, surrounded by the high and heavily wooded mountains. The municipality of Santa Praxedes, which was known until 1997 Langangan, is the least populated municipality of Cagayan. It was founded in 1917 by the settlement of Apayaos. In the south, the municipality borders the province of Apayao and to the west by the province of Ilocos Norte.
