Santa Teresa del Tuy is a Venezuelan town in the southwest of the state of Miranda. It is the administrative headquarters of the district of Independencia.

Santa Teresa del Tuy is located 65 km from Caracas. In 2005 it counted 260 899 inhabitants.

It was founded on October 14, 1771. The region is an important cocoa area since the 18th century.
