Santa Victoria Oeste

Santa Victoria and Santa Victoria Oeste (to differentiate from Santa Victoria Este in the department of Rivadavia ) is the capital of the departments of Santa Victoria in the province of Salta in northwestern Argentina. It lies on the River Santa Victoria at an altitude of 2350 meters. In the classification of municipalities in the province it belongs to the municipalities of the second category.

Santa Victoria is only accessible via Yavi in the province of Jujuy on a winding road. Until Yavi it 105 kilometers to the border town to the neighboring country of Bolivia, La Quiaca, 118 kilometers.

Economy

The economic activities of the department are the cattle and the cultivation of potatoes and maize.
