Santiago Otheguy

Santiago Otheguy ( born January 29, 1973 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine-born French film director.

As a 18 -year-old Otheguy goes to Paris. He studied art history at the Sorbonne. 1995-1999 is followed by a film studies. Here is his short film Naima. His feature film debut in 2000, he is with drug scenes, for which he directed the episode Up ( La ramp) with Claude Jade. In interviews, he stated that he had Claude Jade cast as an alcoholic, because their tenderness and dignity contrary to the nature of the role. Then more short films created Retiro ( Mort à Cherbourg ) and Documentation 22 de Enero. 2004 as an assistant director Juan Solanas in the film Nordeste with Carole Bouquet.

Otheguys breakdown occurs with a drama on the subject of homosexuality, whose protagonists are connected only by a ship of civilization, at the Berlinale 2007: His film La León was a popular success and won the Teddy Award.
