The Santiago Peak is a 1734 m high mountain in the Cleveland National Forest in California, United States. He is the highest peak of the Santa Ana Mountains and is located on the border between Orange County and Riverside County. The summit area is covered with several transmission towers.

The saddle height is 1337 m. From the big city of Corona Mountain is 17.6 km away.

Together with the northern Modjeska Peak it forms the Saddleback formation that is similar to the Orange County from a riding saddle and in good visibility in most of the Greater Los Angeles Area is recognizable.

Is named the mountain after the Santiago Creek, which rises on the southwestern slope. This in turn was named after the St. James.

Hiking

Lead to the summit of Santiago Peak several hiking trails, the most popular is the Holy Jim Trail, a 26 km long circuit that overcomes a difference in altitude of 1200 meters. The trail is considered moderate to strenuous and is especially recommended from winter to spring, so difficult hiking in warmer times insects.

From the top of the high mountains of southern California such as San Gorgonio Mountain, San Jacinto Peak and Mount San Antonio are visible. However, a complete panoramic view is not possible due to the numerous radio equipment at the summit.
