Santo Stefano di Magra ( in Ligurian: San steva ) is a municipality with 8998 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Italian region of Liguria. It is located in the province of La Spezia.

Location

Santo Stefano di Magra is located in the province of La Spezia, where the river empties into the Vara river Magra section. The territory of the municipality extends to the surrounding hills, to the village of Ponzano Superiore.

The municipality is located in a strategic point, which connects the province of La Spezia with the Tuscan province of Massa- Carrara. In addition, in Santo Stefano di Magra branch off important link roads towards Parma.

The municipality is located in the Natural Park of Monte Marcello Magra.
