Sânzieni

Sanzieni (Hungarian Kézdiszentlélek, Hungarian pronunciation: ke ː ː zdisɛntle lɛk ) is a town in Covasna county, in the Transylvania region of Romania. It consists of four villages: Sanzieni, Casinu Mic ( Kiskászon ) Petriceni ( Kézdikővár ) and Valea Seacă ( Kézdiszárazpatak ).

The community lies in the Székely Land and is almost completely inhabited by Hungarian-speaking ethnic groups. She belonged to Hungary until 1920 with the Treaty of Trianon was a part of Romania.

Attractions

  • The Roman Catholic church castle at the foot of the mountain Perko has Gothic and Baroque pieces of equipment. The altar is dated to the year 1685. The church encloses a protective wall with bastions, which was built in 1730 due to the Tartar wars.
  • The Stephen's Chapel (Hungarian: Szent István Kápolna ) is a medieval chapel on the mountain Perko. It contains a fresco in the altar area, additional ceiling paintings awaiting restoration.

Important Festivals

Every year, the Stephen's feast ( Szent Istvàna Ünnep ) is celebrated on August 20. For this climb several thousand festival goers the mountain where Perko front of the chapel held a church service.
