Sapadbizes

Sapadbizes was a ruler who ruled the birth of Christ in Bactria ( in what is now northern Afghanistan). He is known only by his not very numerous coins. He is tentatively assigned to the Yuezhi, which is known from written sources that they ruled in this area. However, this is far from certain. Its coins show on the front of his portrait in profile, on the back there is the representation of an animal, perhaps a lion with the inscription Nania. It is perhaps to the goddess Nana, which is particularly well documented on Kushan coins.
