Sapareva Banya

Saparewa Banja [ sɐpɐrɛvɐ banjɐ ] ( Bulgarian Сапарева баня, in ancient Germania ) is a town in southwestern Bulgaria. It is located 45 km south of Sofia in the Oblast Kyustendil. Located on a northern slope of the Rila mountain, it is the starting point for hikes and excursions. Saparewa Banja is known for the only active geyser in South East Europe and its 103 ° C hot, sulphurous medicinal water with high levels of iron, manganese and calcium.
