Saphenous nerve

The saphenous nerve ( from Arabic safin "hidden" ) is a nerve in the thigh.

The saphenous nerve arises in humans the thigh from the femoral nerve, in many mammals before the passage through the muscular lacuna. Subsequently, the saphenous nerve pulls the femoral artery ( femoral artery ) to the inside of the thigh and there occurs to the surface and supplies the thigh and inner thigh sensitive.

In some mammals it also innervates the sartorius muscle, musculus pectineus and gracilis muscle, with the predators he is purely sensory.
