Description

The long-tailed Hummingbird panties reaches a length of 11.4 centimeters. The beak is just 20 mm long. The plumage is bright green almost completely dark, but more glittering gold and green at the bottom. The forehead is shiny blue. The coverts are bright purple. The spring panties are white. The 56 mm long forked tail is blue-black.

Dissemination

The long-tailed Hummingbird panties occurs in Venezuela, in southern Colombia, Ecuador and northwestern Peru.

Habitat and behavior

The long-tailed Hummingbird panties inhabited open steppe grass slopes at altitudes 2800-4800 m. It feeds on the nectar of small flowers.
