Saar is a place in Bahrain.

South of Saar are the remains of a settlement that was inhabited from about 2300 to 1700 BC, and occupies an area of ​​approximately 2.5 hectares. The site was excavated from 1984 to 1985 by Jordanian and since 1991 by British archaeologists in part. Since he was abandoned around 1700 BC and never resettled, he is comparatively well preserved.

From the settlement of a road could be detected, which runs approximately from southeast to northwest. Other road went off the main axis of the settlement. The standing on the street residential buildings were built rather small and uniform: rectangular, with an L-shaped, probably open access area to the inner room. The floor in the access area is often left quite rough. The houses show little differences in size and amenities.

In the center of the village was a small temple, are investigated, which consists of raw limestone blocks. This has a large room whose roof was supported by three pillars and a small additional room on the west corner of the building. At the entrance stood two pillars.

At findings were mainly pottery and stone tools. But there is also evidence for copper processing. There were more than 80 decorated stamp seals.
