Sarah Chalke
Sarah Louise Christine Chalke ( born August 27, 1976 in Ottawa, Ontario) is a Canadian actress partly German descent. She became known for the television series Roseanne and Scrubs -.
Life
Sarah Chalke grew up in Vancouver as the second of three daughters to her parents Angie and Doug Chalke. Her mother is German, born in Peez, a district of Rostock, where the entire family emigrated in 1952. Chalke maintains contact with her German relatives and visited as a child twice a week the German school in her hometown. She speaks fluent German and French, therefore, what eventually applied to their role in Scrubs. Since 2008, she has the American citizenship.
Chalke is engaged to a lawyer since 2006. 24 December 2009 Chalke took her son to the world.
Acting Career
Chalke began her acting career in the 1992 TV movie City Boy. At first notoriety helped her the role of Becky Conner in the U.S. sitcom Roseanne, which they 16 -year-old took over representation of its predecessor Alicia Goranson 1993. With completion of high school, she moved to Los Angeles in 1995 to facilitate the participation in the shooting.
When the series ended in 1997, she returned to Vancouver and was to be seen in the following years in various television productions. After the movie, Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy ( 1998) she received in the same year starred in the Canadian series of the same name, which in 2000 earned her a nomination for a Gemini Award of the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television.
She left the series after the second season in September 2000 and moved again to Los Angeles. Already in December, she was awarded the role of Elliot Reid on the television series Scrubs -. Filming began in March 2001.
During the despun months Chalke was involved in several film and theater productions, most recently the Off- Broadway play Modern Orthodox in April and May 2005. Since she lost aunt and grandmother from breast cancer, she took over in 2006, the main role in the film Why I wore lipstick ( to my mastectomy ), which retraced the disease history of American journalist Geralyn Lucas. They also played together with American comedy troupe The Lonely Ones Iceland in Channel series The ' Bu with, a parody of the American television series The OC.
In 2005, she was seen in the movie Wedding Bells. In 2007 she participated in the movie Mama's Boy.
In 2008, she was on the side of many other famous actors such as Jack Black, John C. Reilly, Neil Patrick Harris in the musical- Prop 8: to see, to the same- with the theme of recognition: The Musical (Marc Shaiman Directed ) partnerships in the United States is concerned. They also had 2008 the role of Dr. Stella Zinman in the American sitcom How I Met Your Mother.
