Sarah Siegelaar

Sarah Elaine Siegelaar ( born October 4, 1981 in Heemstede ) is a Dutch rower who won two Olympic medals in the eights.

Siegelaar began only in 1999 with the rowing competition on level. In 2001 she won with the boat in the Amsterdam Student Association Nereus the Dutch league title in the eighth. In 2002 she won in the U23 World Championships in fifth in the two with coxswain. In 2003 she participated in the World Championships in adult category for the first time. In coxless four, she won the silver medal with Helen Tanger, Laura Posthuma and van Annemarieke Rumpt at the World Championships in Milan. 2004 changed Tangier, van Rumpt and Siegelaar in the Dutch rollercoaster, reaching with this boat at the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004 to third place behind the boats from Romania and from the United States. Only in 2007, returned Siegelaar after a long break in the Dutch roller back. After a victory at the World Cup in Amsterdam and two third places in Luzern and Linz aft finished only seventh place at the World Rowing Championships in 2007. 2008 the aft succeeded after two fourth places in the World Cup in the Olympic final in Beijing a rather surprising second place behind the U.S. Americans and against the Romanians.
