Sarah Sorge

Sarah Sorge ( born August 26, 1969 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German politician. She is a member of Alliance 90/The Greens and was from 2001 to 2012 Member of the Hesse state parliament, where she was science and cultural affairs in her group. From 2005-2012 worry was Vice President of the Hesse Landtag. Since March 2012 she is councilor and Deputy Mayor for Education and Women of the City of Frankfurt am Main.

Political career

Sarah concern studied from 1989 to 1997 Political Science at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, where she became involved in the student body. She is a member of the Green Party since 1993. She was active in the Hessian Green Youth and immediately after her party entrance spokeswoman for the Green Youth Stammtisch Frankfurt and assessor in the county Director of the Frankfurt countryside. It retained this office until 1997. From 1997 to 1999 and from 2007 to 2009 she was a board spokeswoman for the Frankfurt District Association of Alliance 90/The Greens.

In 1995, she ran unsuccessfully as a direct candidate for the Hesse state. In 1997 she was elected to the Frankfurt city council and was also spokesperson ( chairman ) of the district association of their party. In 1999 she ran, this time on the state list of the Greens, again for the state legislature, but was not re-elected. She was then two years the country director of the Hessian countryside before going for Alexander Müller nachrückte in the state legislature in 2001. She was re-elected in the parliamentary elections in 2003, 2008 and the early state election 2009 candidate list.

In March of concern in the Frankfurt city council by a vote of the Greens and the CDU was elected alderman education. In the runoff election for the office of mayor of Frankfurt in 2012 she sat indirectly, for the CDU candidate and Hesse Interior Minister Boris Rhein a, was elected Peter Feldmann (SPD).

As a member of parliament, she worked primarily with university, science and art, as well as preventing expansion of the airport in Frankfurt and the promotion of equality between women.

In 2009, Sarah gave custody of her party Alliance 90/The Greens 12208.60 euros.

After the election for City Councillor for Women and Education in Frankfurt am Main dispensed concern on their electoral mandate.
