Sarah Sutton

Sarah Sutton ( born December 12, 1961 in Basingstoke, Hampshire) is a British actress with character roles in television and the theater. She became famous in the 1970s and 1980s by the mystery television series The moon mold and Doctor Who.

Life and career

Sarah Sutton was born in 1961 in Basingstoke in the county of Hampshire. After a ballet training Sarah began her acting career at the age of seven, where she took a role in the Phoenix Theatre production of " Winnie the Pooh". In the early 1970s, she played a number of television roles, including in the British television series Menace, Play for Today, Ten from the Twenties, Oil Strike North or Westway.

In the television film directed by James MacTaggart Alice Through the Looking Glass on a novel by Lewis Carroll in 1973 she played the title role of Alice. In the 1975 television mini-series produced Late Call for a novel of the writer Angus Wilson, she played the role of Myra Longmore.

In 1978, she occupied the director Dorothea Brooking in the lavishly produced by the BBC children's drama series The Moon mold for the lead role of the blind Diana. At her side was seen James Greene, Caroline Goodall, David Haig and John Abineri.

Then Sarah Sutton went back to her acting studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama as part-time study.

1981 Sarah Sutton was asked to audition for the role of Nyssa in the television series Doctor Who. Sutton got the part and played the role until 1984 in 48 episodes.

In the 1980s she played then propagated theater. Among other things, she went in 1986 with the pieces Policy for Murder on tour.

In 1984 she married Andrew Johnson and than a few years their daughter Hannah was born later, she took a creative break, but returned in 1989 with a small role in the television series Casualty back.

In Stuart McDonald's short film Doctor Who: Dimensions in Time was seen Sarah Sutton 1993 once again in the role of Nyssa.
