Sarangani Bay

The bay of Sarangani is part of Celebes Sea and is located on the southern coast of the island of Mindanao in the Philippines. The bay has an area of 449 km ² and an average depth of 350 meters. The Cape Tampuan in Maasim and the Cape Sumbang in Glan form the entrance to the bay. The bay has a coastline of about 79 km. Mythology

The name comes from a legend, of an adventurous son of the family of Sangil from Indonesia. This came on his voyages often in the Sultanate of Buayan (now General Santos City ), the ancestral home of Maguindanao.
