Sárbogárd

Sárbogárd ( German: Bochart ) is a town of about 12,600 inhabitants in a small area Sárbogárd, whose administrative headquarters is in Hungary. It is in Fejér county at an altitude of about 131 meters above sea level in the Pannonian plain.

Approximately 35 km to the west extends the northeastern shore of Lake Balaton, about 24 kilometers east of Sárbogárd runs steeply from north to south flowing river Danube.

The city's name is now generally to a composition of the name of the district Sárszentmiklós and the name of any products mentioned in a document from the year 1323 nobles István Bogardi, after probably the northern part of the city is named, returned. The channel, which flows away about five kilometers east of Sárbogárd almost parallel to the main road Sárbogárds from north to south, is named Sárvíz.

A famous personality of the town is the painter Mészöly Géza, who was born in 1844 in Sárbogárd.
