Course of the Río Sardinata

The Río Sardinata is a right tributary of the Río Catatumbo in Colombia and Venezuela.

The Río Sardinata rises south of Sardinata in Colombian Eastern Cordillera. It flows in a northerly direction through the Colombian Departamento de Norte de Santander. The river passes through the city of the same name Sardinata. At Tres Bocas he takes on the two left tributaries of Rio Presidente and Río Tibú and crosses the border into Venezuela. Here the Río Sardinata meandering through the lowlands of the Venezuelan state of Zulia, still takes the Río Socuavo from the left, and finally empties into the flowing eastward Río Catatumbo.
