Sargstedt is a district of the city of Halberstadt in the district of Harz, in Saxony- Anhalt.

Geographical Location

The place is located in the northern Harz foreland, northwest of Halberstadt, on the south side of the Huys.

History

Sargstedt belonged until 1648 to the Bishopric of Halberstadt and then got to the Principality of Halberstadt. The town was under the direct Majoreiamt Halberstadt and arrived in 1815 at the Magdeburg Region of the Prussian Province of Saxony.

On 1 January 2010, until then independent municipality Sargstedt was incorporated together with the communities Athenstedt, Long Stone, Aspenstedt and Ströbeck in the city of Halberstadt.
