Sarpy County, Nebraska

Sarpy County is a county located in the state of Nebraska in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Papillion, which was named after the Papillion Creek.

Geography

The County is located in the extreme east of Nebraska, adjacent to the state of Iowa and has an area of 640 square kilometers, of which 18 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Douglas County, Cass County and Saunders County.

History

Sarpy County was formed in 1857. It was named after Colonel Peter A. Sarpy.
