Sarv-e Abarkuh

The Cypress of Abarqu or Abar Cow (Persian سرو ابرکوه Sarv -e Abar cow) is one around the 4,000 to 4,500 year old cypress tree in the city in the Iranian province of Yazd Abarkuh. It measures 25 meters in height and the extent of their tribe is 11.5 meters. According to legend, the tree was planted by the founders of religion Zarathustra.

In the Iranian art and culture, the cypress is a common symbol of a tree. It stands for honesty, truth and eternal youth. Another culturally significant cypress of the country is the cypress of Kashmar.
