Sașa Pană

Sasa Pană, actually Alexandru binder, ( born August 8, 1902 in Bucharest; † August 22, 1981 in Bucharest ) was a poet, novelist and short-story writer of the Romanian avant-garde.

Life and work

One Jewish family entstammend he studied medicine in Iasi and Bucharest, and in 1927 trained army doctor. However, he was more interested in a literary career that began in 1925, when he unui Muritor Symbolism -inspired poetry under the title Răbojul.

Pană was mainly due to the Dadaist, Surrealist interested later topics. In 1928 he gave the avant-garde magazine out unu. The publishing of the same name he published alongside its own books and works of Urmuz, Tristan Tzara, Stephan Roll and Ilarie Voronca. For his writing he adapted the technique of Surrealist automatism by André Breton - Diagrame (1930 ), Echinox orbitor (1931 ) and Viata lui romanţată a Dumnezeu ( 1932). Subsequent publications Panas open, however, its stylistics in the direction of more traditional writing techniques.

Many of his book publications were illustrated by famous artists such as MH Maxy, Victor Brauner, Marcel Janco, Man Ray and Pablo Picasso.
