Sascha Riether ( born March 23, 1983 in Lahr ) is a German football player.
Sascha Riether was before his move in July 1998 for the B- youth of SC Freiburg in the youth teams of the FV Kuhbach (now SC Kuhbach -Reichenbach ) and Offenburger FV operates. He was brought to the first team of SC Freiburg 2002. 2002/ 03 he was on Matchday 1 of the 2nd Bundesliga debut in professional football. The 1-0 away win against Alemannia Aachen, he played the entire season. He quickly made his breakthrough at SC Freiburg. Riether was used both in the right side of midfield as well as in defensive midfield. At the end of his first professional season, he rose to the SCF on to the Bundesliga. On August 2, 2003 ( 1st Round ) scored the midfielder during his Erstligadebüt the temporary equalizer in the 1:4 defeat against Bayer 04 Leverkusen. It was his first professional hit at all. The following year, the Freiburg topped with Riether again in the second league. After he had missed with SC Freiburg twice as table Fourth 's re-emergence in the Bundesliga, he left Freiburg despite an ongoing contract until 2009.
Since 2007 - from the outset as a regular player - he played for VfL Wolfsburg and came under coach Felix Magath predominantly on the right back position for use. In his first season the team reached the fifth place, thus qualifying for the UEFA Cup competition. The following year, VfL was the first time in the club's German champion and brought Riether the first title of his career. In both of these and in the following two years, he has always belonged to the tribe of the Wolfsburg team.

On 23 October 2002 Riether debuted in the U-20 national team in the 1-2 defeat against England in Dessau. Riether played 20 times in the U-21 National Team, led them temporarily as a team captain and took her part in the 2006 European Championship. Nominated on 6 August 2010, he came on August 11 in Copenhagen in test match against Denmark with Substitutes in the 56th minute for Andreas Beck to his senior international debut. Germany coach Löw Riether for the two qualifying matches for the 2012 European Football Championship against Belgium and Azerbaijan. In the second game Riether was allowed to play the entire season. There coach Joachim Loew put him on the right -back position. The team of the DFB defeated Azerbaijan 6-1 in Cologne.
