Saselbekquelle on Allhornteich

The Saselbek is a Hamburg Bach. It flows through the outer north-east of the urban area.

Geography

The creek entfließt the Allhornteich in Hamburg's folk village. It flows in a westerly direction, passing the Volksdorfer center, runs through the nature reserve Volksdorfer Teichwiesen between folk village and Sasel, forms the border between Bergstedt and Sasel and strokes slightly to the northwest in the nature reserve grove Esch / Iland. It ends at the Old Mill above the Mellingburger lock into the lake. The Saselbek is thus a body of water 3rd order. As the inflow Gussau people in the village who Streekbek and Furtbek in Bergstedt are worth mentioning.

The Saselbek forms the end of the previous Gussau and the Allhorn glacier that advanced during the Weichsel ice age in the region of today's forest villages.

In the lower reaches line the Saselbek steep margins, where kingfishers nest.
