Sassafras Mountain

The 1,085 meters, according to other data only 1083 meters or 1081 meters high Sassafras Mountain is the highest mountain in the U.S. state of South Carolina. It is located in Pickens County, on the border with North Carolina ( Transylvania County). The lying in North Carolina side of the mountain is owned by the businessman Charles H. Taylor. It is named after the mountain to be found there sassafras tree.
