Sassnitz Wildlife Park

The zoo Sassnitz is a zoo in the city of Sassnitz on the German Baltic Sea island of Rügen.

The year-round Park covers an area of ​​2.5 hectares on the outskirts of the town of Sassnitz. In animal park about 250 animals are kept from 60 species. Mostly it is native animals, but also some exotic live in the park.

The Sassnitzer Animal Park is the only park of its kind in the largest German island. In the year 2001 27.000 visitors were counted.

In addition to a newspaper stand, ensuring the food and beverage services to the visitors, the park has also an open air theater, a playground and a petting zoo. A nature trail provides information about native animals and plants.

Contents will include eagles, monkeys, deer, Degu, squirrels, magpies, duck, donkey, owl, pheasant, trout, ferret, fox, rabbit, lynx, marten, guinea pigs, coati, horse, sheep, snowy owl, eagle owl, tawny owl, wild cat, wild boar, wolf, zebra finch and goat.
