Saturn's Gallic group of satellites
The Gallic group is a group of prograde irregular moons of the planet Saturn, which move on similar orbits.
The semi-major axes of their orbits in this case run 16.2 to 18.0 Millionen km. The orbits have eccentricities from 0.469 to 0.531 and inclinations ( orbital inclinations ) between 33.8 ° and 35.0 °, with the prograde moons themselves, ie in the direction of rotation of the planet to move the Saturn.
The four members of the group ( with increasing distance from Saturn):
- Albiorix
- Bebhionn
- Erriapus
- Tarvos
The moons of the Gallic group are named by the International Astronomical Union ( IAU) after characters from Celtic mythology.
