Saunders County is a county located in the state of Nebraska in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Wahoo.

Geography

The County is located in Eastern Nebraska, about 50 kilometers, from Iowa and has an area of ​​1965 square kilometers, of which 13 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Douglas County, Sarpy County, Cass County, Lancaster County, Butler County and Dodge County.

History

Saunders County was formed in 1856. It was named after Alvin Saunders, a former governor of the territory.
