Saussure (crater)

Saussure is an impact crater in the southern lunar front side, south of the Mare Nubium, east of the crater Tycho and southwest of Nasireddin. The crater is eroded, the interior largely flat.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 by the Swiss naturalist Horace - Bénédict de Saussure.
