Sauvillers-Mongival

Sauvillers - Mongival ( Picard: Seuvilé - Mongivo ) is a northern French village with 185 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montdidier, is part of the Communauté de communes du Val de Noye, in the canton Ailly- sur- Noye.

Geography

The in southeastern limited by a dry valley, agricultural community located approximately six kilometers south of Moreuil at the intersection of department D83 and D84 roads.

Toponymy and history

Mongival is a former hamlet, which was destroyed in 1636 by Spanish troops during the siege of Corbie. The community came in 1393 to the Lords of Raineval. In the First World War, it was almost completely destroyed, recaptured in July 1918 by the French troops. She received the Croix de guerre as a distinction from 1914 to 1918.
