Sauzin

Sauzin is a municipality in the north- west of the island of Usedom in the district of Vorpommern - Greifswald. Sauzin located in Wolgast place between Krumminer Wiek and the river Peene. The municipality is On Peenestrom based in Wolgast managed by the Office. Until January 1, 2005 Sauzin was part of the Office Wolgast country. Sauzin itself is a typical street village with very patchy development.

Geography and transport

Sauzin is located about two kilometers west of Wolgast and eight kilometers east of Zinnowitz. North of the village the federal highway 111 runs South of the village is the backwaters. Sauzin lies in the nature park Usedom Island.

History

The place Sauzin was first documented on August 12, 1230 as Zobesino. Sauzin has long been a Vorwerk the city Wolgast. From the Thirty Years War to the 1720 Sauzin belonged to Sweden and then to the Kingdom of Prussia. Since 1990 Sauzin part of the state of Mecklenburg -Vorpommern.

The district Ziemitz was mentioned in a document from 1309 as Snmitz first time. Ziemitz was a domain Vorwerk.
